Privacy policy
How IWSE collects, uses and looks after your personal information. Last updated 24 October 2026.
In short: I only collect what I need to reply to you, quote for and carry out your work. I never sell your details or use them for marketing, and this website doesn’t use cookies.
Who I am
IWSE is the trading name of Isaac Stafford, an electrical contractor based in Canterbury, Kent, working across the whole county. Postal address: 2 Almond Court, Chartham, Canterbury, Kent, CT4 7TL. Isaac Stafford, trading as IWSE, is the “data controller” for the personal information described here. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email info@iwse.co.uk or call 07486 977224.
What information I collect
- When you use the quote form: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, address (if you choose to give it), the type of work, your description of the job, any photos you choose to send, and how you found the website (for example a Google search or my business card).
- When you call, text, WhatsApp or email me: your contact details and whatever you tell me about the job.
- If I carry out work for you: the address of the job, details of the work, certificates and test results, quotes, invoices and payment records.
- When you visit this website: cookie-free visitor statistics (such as pages viewed, the website that referred you, your general device and browser type and country). These don’t identify you. The website host may also briefly keep technical logs, including IP addresses, for security.
How I use it, and why I’m allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote: because you’ve asked me to, before entering into a contract.
- To carry out, certify and invoice the work, and to honour my guarantee: to perform my contract with you.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records: because the law requires it.
- To keep this website secure and understand how it’s used: my legitimate interest in running the business, using only anonymous statistics.
I won’t send you marketing messages, and I never sell or give your information to anyone for their own marketing.
Who your information is shared with
I only share information with the services I need to run the business:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and my job app. Quote form submissions (including photos) go straight to my job app, where I keep enquiries for up to 180 days.
- Zoho Mail, my email provider, which stores emails you send me.
- Elec-Mate, the app I use to write quotes, electrical certificates and invoices. It stores your contact details, the job address and the records for your job.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts website visits without cookies and without identifying you.
- WhatsApp (run by Meta), only if you choose to message me that way.
- My accountant and HMRC, where needed for tax purposes, and anyone I’m legally required to share information with.
Cloudflare is based in the USA, so your information may be processed there under legal safeguards approved for UK data.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to any work are deleted within 12 months.
- Records for jobs I carry out (contact details, quotes, invoices and payments) are kept for 6 years after the work, for tax, accounting and guarantee purposes.
- Electrical certificates and test records may be kept for longer where that’s needed to show the work met the regulations.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, object to how I use it, or send it to you or someone else in a reusable format. Some of these rights have exceptions. For example, I have to keep certain records for tax purposes. To use any of these rights, contact me using the details above. I’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use cookies, so there’s no cookie banner. The visitor statistics are collected without cookies. If that ever changes, I’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
If you start filling in the quote form, what you’ve typed is saved in your own browser, so it isn’t lost if you take a call or switch apps. It stays on your device, is never sent to me until you press send, and is deleted when you send the form, tap “Start again” or close the tab. When you send it, a short summary is kept just long enough to show you on the thank-you page, then deleted.
Keeping your information safe
This website is only served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold, such as using strong passwords and secure devices.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
